Office of the President
I began my mandate as president of the University of Ottawa in July 2008. I feel a particular attachment to the University as it is my alma mater. I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to lead one of Canada’s premier institutions of higher learning.
The University of Ottawa is a place where languages, cultures and national and international perspectives come together to create a unique educational experience in the heart of Canada’s capital. Our bilingualism, multiculturalism and research excellence set us apart from other universities.
Our University attracts the best and brightest from across Canada and around the world. Our teaching and research programs — offered in both official languages — are designed to actively engage our students, expand knowledge and create an environment rich in diversity, talent and ideas.
To a large extent, I feel my role as President is to ensure the University’s reputation truly reflects the significant accomplishments taking place on our campus and to make certain we provide the best quality learning environment for our students.
On this page you will find interesting links; notably the University’s suggestion box where you may submit a comment, as well as my personal blog, where you are welcome to reply, on various questions and subjects of interest for the university community and the public at large.
